Magufuli Thanks Kuwait for Funding of Construction of Chaya – Nyahua Road.

President of United Republic of Tanzania  John Pombe Magufuli has thanked government of Kuwait for its financial support for the construction of Chaya – Nyahua road in Singida region.

The Kuwait government has offerred to provide Tshs 110 billion loan to fund the 85- kilometre road which will connect communication inftrastructure between Singida and Tabora regions.

During the talks with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Tanzania Jasem Ibrahim al Najem at the state house early this week, President Magufuli extended his gratitutde to the Ruler of Kuwait King  Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for the support his country has been rendering to Tanzania.

“Please extend my warmest greetings to the King,  Sheik Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and let him know that we appreciate his support and that of his country to our efforts to develop our country and would like to assure his Majesty that we will wisely use the money and complete the road construction” said President Magufuli.

He also expressed his appreciation to the government of Kuwait for the support on different developmental  projects in the country including US $ 250,000 loan for the purchase  of medical aquipments at the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute, US $ 50 million for construction of  Mnazi Mmoja hospital in Zanzibar  and drilling of 27 clean water wells for schools and  citizens across the cit and assured him of Tanzania’s readiness to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

President Magufuli assured  Kuwaiti King, Sheik Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Tanzania’s readiness to continue strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and used the occassion to solicite suport for the construction of the country’s capital Dodoma.

President Mgufuli also received from Kuwait envoy two vehicles for collection of solid waste worth US $ 200,000  to support the cleanliness campaign in the country.

On his side, Ambassodor Jasem Ibrahim Al- Najem told President Magufuli that Kuwait and Tanzania were enjoying excellent bilateral relations and his country was proud of its relations with Tanzania and vowed to continue to enhance them.

Later on,  President Magufuli held talks with special envoy of President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Ambassador Leonard She Okitundu who handed over special message from President Joseph Kabila.

During the talks, the special envoy-Deputy Prime Minister  and  Minister of Foregn Affairs  Leonard She Okitundu told President Magufuli that the situation in DRC was calm and that the peace dialogue between the parties was going on well.

President Magufuli reiterated Tanzania’s commitment to continue supporting efforts to end political disputes in their country.

Meanwhile, president Magufuli  has said that Tanzania and Mozambique will continue to consolidate their bilateral relationships as they were built in strong historical foundation.

Talking to the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Mozambique who is also  Minister of Defense General Atanasio Salvador Ntumuke at the State House recently, President Magufuli told General Ntumuke that strengthening of relations between the two countries was vital for the benefit of both sides.

Relations between the two countries dates back during struggle for independence of the people of  Mozambican who received massive support from Tanzania.
