Waziri Mkuu Kassim Majaliwa ameupongeza uongozi benki ya DCB kwa kufanikiwa kubadili muundo kutoka benki ya jamii na kuwa ya biashara.
“Benki nyingi za jamii zimekufa baada ya kushidwa kujiendesha lakini ninyi DCB mmeweza kumudu kujiendesha hadi kufikia kuwa benki ya biashara.”
Hata hivyo, Waziri Mkuu ameutaka uongozi wa benki hiyo uimarishe kitengo cha elimu kwa umma ili jamii ifahamu huduma wanazozitoa.
“Nendeni kwa wananchi mkawape elimu juu ya umuhimu wa kufungua akaunti na pia rahisisheni mazingira ya kutolea huduma kwa wateja.”
Waziri Mkuu ameyasema hayo leo (Jumatatu, Mei 6, 2019) alipokutana na uongozi wa benki hiyo ofisini kwake Bungeni jijini Dodoma.
Kadhalika, Waziri Mkuu ameitaka benki hiyo isogeze huduma kwa wananchi hususan maeneo ya pembezoni ambayo bado hayajafikiwa.
Amesema ni muhimu wananchi wakasogezewa huduma za kibenki ili waweze kuhakikishiwa usalama wao pamoja na fedha zao.
Awali, Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa benki ya DCB, Bw. Godfrey Ndalahwa alisema tangu benki hiyo ianzishwe imefanikiwa kukuza amana za wateja kutoka sh. bilioni mbili mwaka 2002 hadi sh. bilioni 75 Desemba mwaka jana.
“Pia mikopo imeongezeka kutoka sh. bilioni moja mwaka 2002 na kufikia sh. bilioni 90, Desemba 2018, faida ikiwa ni sh. bilioni 17.7 baada ya kodi.”
Mkurugenzi huyo alisema katika kipindi cha miaka 16 ya utendaji wake, benki hiyo imeshatoa gawio la zaidi ya sh. bilioni 11 kwa wanachama wake.
Pia, Mkurugenzi huyo alitumia fursa hiyo kuipongeza Serikali ya Awamu ya Tano inayoongozwa na Rais Dkt. John Magufuli kwa kuboresha maendeleo.
